Based in the heart of the rich West Cork dairy region, Bandon Vale initially was set-up to revive the art of cheese making in the traditional style with the manufacture, sale and establishment of a brand of territorial hard cheeses. Over the years the business has diversified and expanded to become a major player in supplying food wholesalers, distributors and retail markets.

The company was set up in 1994 by Andy and Margaret Mahon and over the next decade expanded its facilities as the cheese industry experienced substantial growth. Having established a firm footing in the food ingredients industry and conscious that it was in this area that there were growth opportunities, Bandon Vale installed its first high-tech production line. Soon followed a purpose built production facility, with up to date technology and the highest quality, health and safety standards. With this came a name change to Bandon Vale Cheese Ltd. Since the move the company is enjoying increased capacity, product range and flexibility when new products are sought.
